I have tried once or twice over the last couple of years to get a mention of Springfree Trampolines on Wikipedia and what ever I have tried to add has been almost instantly taken down. It seems that the clever people at Springfree HQ have made a little progress and at least Keith Alexander now has a mention. It's a start I suppose and reads ....
As with competitive trampolines recreational trampolines are usually made using coiled steel springs to provide the rebounding force. New Zealander Dr. Keith Vivian Alexander of the University of Canterbury designed a trampoline which replaces the springs with cantilivered pultruded fibreglass rods to provide the rebounding force. This spring free design allows the steel jumping frame to be placed below the jumping plane so safety is claimed to be improved
